The first impression when he got off the train from Copenhagen was that "it looks like Jenin", a city in the northern West Bank, with Palestinian flags everywhere and placards with slogans like "Boycott Israel".
As Avrahami began to photograph, a woman in her 60s wearing a Palestinian shawl appeared and demanded that he stop taking pictures. The police were called and found that he had the right to take pictures in a public place. As Avrahami continued to the demonstration, he was followed by the woman with friends who began taking pictures of the reporter.
The group, which had grown to about ten people, all young Muslims with all the visible accessories, demanded that Avrahami produce documents proving that he is neither Jewish nor Israeli, to which he replied that he is both. Suddenly he was hit hard on the head with a blunt object and fell to the ground. He was also kicked and punched.
The police, who were busy guarding the square, did not intervene.
