LOL: Scarborough Accuses Media Of 'False Moral Equivalency' In Trump-Harris Coverage

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, live in such thick bubbles that they unironically argued on Tuesday’s Morning Joe that the news media is pretending this election is just like any other election and that they are creating a “false moral equivalency” between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Scarborough lamented that, “Jeff, you made the point to your guests that Donald Trump will be brutish at Arlington, going places that no other politician has gone. He will have bizarre tweets daily that suggest he is deeply unwell. He will flip-flop on issues like abortion and immigration and just about everything else, lie constantly, and yet, the media will pretend like this is 1996 and its Clinton-Dole and they'll go, ‘Yes, but Kamala Harris had Tim Walz with her in her first interview.’”     He further mourned, “This is -- I notice the pace of -- and I hate criticizing the mainstream media because, mainly, they do things right, but there is almost a desperation for them to pretend this race is like every other race, and the false moral equivalency is getting pretty bad, and we're just one day past Labor Day. Talk about that, if you will.” Back on Planet Earth, 89 percent of Trump’s coverage has been negative, while 84 percent of Harris’s has been positive. The media is constantly hyping Harris’s “joyful” campaign while attacking Trump’s “dark” campaign. For his part, Goldberg decried, “I mean, it should have struck all of us about nine years ago, right? But it really struck me when he did his long soliloquy on batteries and electricity and sharks, remember that? Whether it is better to be killed by a shark or by a battery falling into the ocean.” He added, “And then, you know, last week, it was this -- another, sort of, incredible disposition about irrelevant things, and I’m thinking, “My god, if Kamala Harris spent ten minutes on stage randomly talking about whether” -- first of all, he doesn't even understand how batteries work and how stored energy works, and he spends last week talking about how people don't eat bacon anymore because of windmills. That’s not normal. I mean, it's not normal, and we can't act as if it's normal, and so we’re operating with a double standard.” On the contrary, when Harris has her Harris-isms the media try to argue that makes her appealing to young people. Nevertheless, Goldberg rolled on: Kamala Harris, we parse her speeches, her interviews as if she is a serious human being who is taking slightly different positions on X or Y or Z, and we're holding her accountable, and that's fine. It's especially fine in a normal circumstance. But here, we have a situation where she's talking about things within a normal bandwidth of political discussion, and he is saying abnormal things, and we're treating them the same, and there's two different races going on and there's two very different candidates. I'm just saying, say what it is, which is, this person is outside the bandwidth of what politicians have been like through our modern era. No wonder Harris chose Morning Joe for her last interview before the CNN-Dana Bash sit down. Here is a transcript for the September 3 show: MSNBC Morning Joe 9/3/2024 7:33 AM ET JOE SCARBOROUGH: Jeff, you made the point to your guests that Donald Trump will be brutish at Arlington, going places that no other politician has gone. He will have bizarre tweets daily that suggest he is deeply unwell. He will flip-flop on issues like abortion and immigration and just about everything else, lie constantly, and yet, the media will pretend like this is 1996 and its Clinton-Dole and they'll go, “yes, but Kamala Harris had Tim Walz with her in her first interview.”  And this is -- I notice the pace of -- and I hate criticizing the mainstream media because, mainly, they do things right, but there is almost a desperation for them to pretend this race is like every other race, and the false moral equivalency is getting pretty bad, and we're just one day past Labor Day. Ex-NFL WR Roddy White Claims Clemson Lost Because They Had 'Too Many White Dudes'

Roddy White spent 11 years in the NFL playing wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, so you would think he knows a thing or two about what qualities and talents a person needs to be a good football player. At least, that would be a logical assumption to make. But on Saturday, he proved that how he measures athletic aptitude has nothing to do with actual talent. Like many Americans on Saturday afternoon, White tuned in to watch the Clemson Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs college football game (what better way to kick off Labor Day weekend than watching college football?). As the game progressed, it became evident that Georgia was the better team, and they won that matchup, 34-3. But White didn’t think the Dawgs were the superior squad because of their talent. This guy claimed that Clemson had too many white players on offense, which he says explains why they lost by so much. Clemson got way to many white dudes on the field on offense this ain’t them. U mean to tell me u only got one black dude out there making plays that’s a recruiting problem — Roddy White (@roddywhiteTV) August 31, 2024 White and Rashard Mendenhall should co-author a book and call it: “The Melanin Effect: Why Black Dudes Are Automatically Better At Football Than White Guys.”  However, I don’t think many people would buy it, because even a blind man could see that this isn’t true. Clemson’s problem on Saturday was that they ran into a far superior team in Georgia, a team that has won two championships in the past three years and was oh-so-close to winning another one last season. The skin color of their players didn’t mean anything; there are plenty of talented white college football players (Michigan’s Mason Graham and Colston Loveland, USC’s Miller Moss, Texas’ Quinn Ewers, and more).  Heck, even Georgia's quarterback - Carson Beck - is cacasian, but White must have completely forgotten about that when he pressed send on this ridiculous tweet. Oh, and by the way, White would have been sent into oblivion had he called out Clemson for recruiting too many black players. But because he criticized white dudes, he’ll be just fine. If I were Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, I would focus on retooling my roster by finding the most talented players in high school and persuading them to join him in South Carolina. But I would completely ignore White’s claim that recruiting black players automatically solves the problem. That’s as stupid as it is racist.

State superintendent steps up after Oklahoma school district forbade teen to fly American flag from truck

The state superintendent of Oklahoma public schools has stepped up after a school district tried to prevent an Oklahoma teenager from flying the American flag on the back of his pickup truck.A couple weeks ago, Caleb Horst arrived on the campus of Edmond North High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, with an American flag affixed to the back of his truck. Though the newly minted high school senior claimed the flag had been there "for quite a while," school administrators told him that the flag was against the rules and that he needed to remove it sometime in the next several days, Blaze News previously reported. These reports should include 'specific measures' administrators are taking to 'integrate' these demonstrations of American pride into 'school culture.'Edmond Public Schools, a district located just north of Oklahoma City, said at the time that, as a general "practice," students were forbidden to bring any sort of flag onto campus to ensure safety and prevent "disruptions and distractions during the school day."At 7 a.m. on August 26, a group of more than 50 patriots from the school and around the community came out to Edmond North High School to protest the flag ban and to support Horst. Now, Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters has intervened on behalf of Horst and other students of like mind and created guidelines for districts to protect students' rights to display the American flag. According to Walters' new guidelines, all Oklahoma school districts must develop a policy that "ensures the U.S. flag ... can be flown and displayed on all school campuses without infringement." Walters also encouraged districts to adopt a policy that will promote a "respectful presentation of the flag" so that students and staff give the flag the "honor it deserves."The guidelines further require districts to submit reports to the Oklahoma Department of Education about their new flag policies as well as their level of compliance with a state law mandating at least weekly recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. These reports should include "specific measures" administrators are taking to "integrate" these demonstrations of American pride into "school culture," said the letter detailing the guidelines. — (@) "No school in Oklahoma should tell students they can't wave an American flag," Walters said in a statement released Thursday. "Americans have fought and died for the right to carry our flag, and no student should ever be targeted for exercising that right. Our young people should never have to fear displaying their patriotism and I will fight every day so that when our students want to express their love for America, they can do so boldly and proudly."The letter from his office similarly stated that "no student should ever be targeted for their patriotism."Meanwhile, the Edmond district continues to defend its previous ban on flags. In a letter issued since patriots gathered to protest the district's severe restrictions on the American flag, Superintendent Angela Grunewald claimed that the practice was implement seven years ago after the flag was being "displayed improperly and grossly disrespected," KOCO reported. The district also insisted that its members are "proudly patriotic" and that they will work to create a clearer policy going forward, KOCO said.Like Blaze News?
