Palace Gives Positive Update Following Princess’ Riding Accident

A Dutch princess is recovering from surgery following a terrifying horseback riding incident. Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands fell from her horse and broke her arm. The palace shared a statement regarding the accident obtained by People, which was translated into English. “The Princess of Orange broke her upper arm today after falling from her horse. According to a statement from the palace translated by People, “The surgery went well,” the palace shared in the statement. “She will remain in the UMC Utrecht for monitoring until tomorrow.” According to the Royal House of the Netherlands website, Catharina is the direct air to the throne. “Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria, Princess of Orange, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau, is first in line to the throne. She was born in The Hague on 7 December 2003, and is the eldest child of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima,” the website states. Many took to social media to share words of encouragement for Princess Catharina following her fall. A concerned follower wrote, “Hope she’s ok!!” This person had a similar experience and hopes Princess Catarina a full recovery. “I too once broke my upper arm in a fall from a horse; I too am (part) Dutch; I am not, however, a royal princess. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.” Many shared similar greetings with her royal highness. Like this person, “Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!” And this one, “Swift recovery to Her Royal Highness!” Hopefully Princess Catharina will heal and be back on her horse quickly.
