“POV: A Stray Cat That You’ve Been Feeding For A Month Brings You A Surprise”

Diana Bostan of The Blue Farm House in Nevada City, California, has pets that aren’t pets. When she bought her old house in rural California, she was looking forward to a simple country life with her two indoor cats. She’s been rehabbing the house and discovering things about her property along the way. One of her discoveries is that the house came with a colony of stray cats and kittens. @sincerelydianab I’m not crying You’re crying #catsoftiktiok #animalsworld #fypシ゚ #farmhouse #foryoupage #straycats ♬ Sweet Heat Lightning – Gregory Alan Isakov At first, she thought there were three strays. She began feeding them and accepted their existence as a part of rural life. Then, there were five strays, but that still was not a problem. After a month of feeding one tortoise-shell stray cat, the cat brought her five kittens up to meet their benefactor. Diana doesn’t know exactly how many cats were included in her property purchase. She does know that they are multiplying. With a couple of extra strays, she figured she would take them to the vet for spaying and neutering. As more stray cats appear, and at least nine kittens, she realizes she needs help with the vet bills. Image from TikTok. She opened a GoFundMe for her “Stray Cat Rescue Effort,” appealing to her fans to help keep the feral colony manageable. She has set her goal low to cover the extra vet costs for spaying, neutering, and initial kitten check-ups. Once the stray cats and kittens are corralled, she can return to remodeling, traveling, and other activities her fans enjoy. If you like old farms, cats, remodeling projects, and travel, give Diana a follow on TikTok. The two batches of kittens are almost ready to begin weaning. Diana is looking forward to watching them grow up and flourish in her yard. Please share. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
