A Woman Was Arrested For Throwing A Bottle Off A Downtown Nashville Rooftop Bar, And Even The Local News Couldn’t Help But Bring Up Morgan Wallen
Still can’t live that one down.
Of course everybody remembers Morgan Wallen‘s infamous arrest in downtown Nashville last year, when he threw a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s.
The singer was originally charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and facing significant time behind bars, but ultimately pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to probation as well as seven days in a DUI education center.
The arrest became an instant meme, with “Leave Them Broadway Chairs Alone” flying like chairs off a rooftop bar, and even Chief’s had some fun with the situation, putting up a plaque reminding patrons not to pull the same stunt:

Well one woman apparently didn’t get the memo, and while it wasn’t a chair that she decided to throw from a rooftop, she still found herself behind bars (obviously).
According to WKRN, a 26-year old woman was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly throwing a glass bottle off the rooftop of a bar in the 400 block of Broadway.
Officers responded to reports of a “loud crash,” and when they got to the scene a victim reported that a glass bottle had hit their windshield.
After a manager reviewed security footage, they were able to identify the woman after her throw was caught on video, and she was ultimately taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor vandalism, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. She was released later in the day on a $3,750 bond.
The best part of the local news station’s report on the incident, though, is that they just had to include a paragraph about Morgan’s arrest in the story:
“Morgan Wallen was arrested in April 2024 and charged with felony felony reckless endangerment for throwing a chair from a Broadway rooftop. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless endangerment and was sentenced to two years probation.”
And over on Facebook, several of the comments also referenced his arrest:
“At least it wasn’t a chair.”
“It’s ok. The precedent has been set…. It’s acceptable Broadway behavior.”
“Too bad she wasn’t in the music biz, she’d get off with nothing”
He’s never going to live that one down.
Of course Morgan seems to be doing pretty well at keeping his nose clean these days (and not just because he’s on probation so he kinda has to). During a recent interview with Theo Von, he even revealed that he hadn’t been back in a bar since that fateful night.
Theo mentioned that Morgan was so famous that he couldn’t even go in a bar anymore (interesting that he would choose a bar, but I think it was just a coincidence).
“It’s kind of funny, you can’t really go to a bar anymore because there would be too much hassle, and it’s probably the best thing for you.”
Morgan laughed and admitted that staying out of bars right now is “definitely” the best thing for him, specifically referencing the “most public” time he was in a bar, at Chief’s, was actually the last time he was in a bar:
“It’s definitely the best thing for me, you know. If you’re using the bar as a specific example, that’s definitely the best thing for me. I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about. The most public time I was in a bar, that’s the last time I was in a bar.”
Smart man.
