President Trump’s post seems to be in response to Juneteenth — a federal holiday that Joe Biden declared in 2021. The Hill said: Government employees are traditionally given the day off on federal holidays while receiving pay. Juneteenth, created to celebrate the freedom of enslaved Black Americans, was designated as a federal holiday in 2021 by former President Biden. However, his call to get rid of “non-working holidays” is stirring up a lot of debate online. Get rid of ‘Juneteenth’ and other such made-up holidays. But, give hard-working Americans some time off on holidays that honor our nation and our God.
