KCRA 3 shared further details:
Crews initially responded to the fire along County Road 23 and County Road 86A in Esparto just before 6 p.m.
LiveCopter 3 was over the area and a number of fireworks could be seen going off amid the flames. Several explosions appeared to engulf some structures on the property. The fire also appeared to spark additional spot fires.
One of the spot fires, which Cal Fire called the Oakdale Fire, spread across more than 78 acres of nearby vegetation before it was handled.
The explosions also posed a danger to firefighters who responded to the area, and crews had to push back and let the fire burn as explosions riddled the facility for hours.
In a press briefing just after 9 p.m., Esparto Fire Protection District Chief Curtis Lawrence said that crews would maintain a safe perimeter around the main fire throughout the night, while putting out spot fires around the area.
“KCRA 3 anchors Kurtis Ming and Edie Lambert and reporter Andres Valle react on air as a massive explosion destroys a structure at a fireworks facility in Yolo County,” KCRA 3 noted.

NBC News noted:
The agency, known as Cal Fire, is investigating the cause of the fire, but a representative from the sheriff’s office said Tuesday night that there was nothing apparently criminal. Drones were being used to assess the damage.
Yolo County issued an evacuation order for what fire officials have named the Oakdale Fire, but some people were allowed to return Tuesday night. People south of an area south of Highway 16 remained under an evacuation order.
Esparto is a community of around 3,000 almost 30 miles northwest of Sacramento.
The explosion happened near the border between Esparto and Madison, which lies to the east, the sheriff’s office said.
