Comedian Reveals His Interview With Kamala Harris Was So Bad He Could Not Publish It (“Bacon is a spice!”)

The United States really dodged a bullet in the last election. The founder of the popular YouTube series “SubwayTakes” revealed in a recent interview with Forbes’ editor Steve Bertoni that his interview with Kamala Harris was so bad that he decided not to publish it. Kareem Rahma, who hosts SubwayTakes, did not give many details on why the interview was so bad that it needed to be shelved, but shared that Harris claimed bacon was a spice at one point in the video. Watch here: Kamala Harris did an interview with Kareem Rahma’s SubwayTakes and it was so bad that they couldn’t publish it. SubwayTakes is a show where people are asked about their hot takes. Harris allegedly told SubwayTakes that her take was that bacon is a spice. “It was really, really… pic.twitter.com/8mXYcTDcQG — Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) July 8, 2025 The New York Post reported on the botched interview last year, but it received little headlines: Vice President Kamala Harris is getting roasted for refusing to talk about the Mideast war with a Muslim influencer — and instead spending her time trying to convince him that bacon is “a spice.’’ The Democratic presidential candidate, 60, chewed the fat last summer with Kareem Rahma, host of the popular TikTok and Instagram show “Subway Takes,” although the interview never aired, the New York Times reported Monday. The show routinely features guests, some of whom are celebrities, defending a light, uncommon viewpoint. The video player is currently playing an ad. Rahma said he raised the possibility of discussing the war with Harris in each of three phone calls with her staff and the Democratic National Committee before their chat but was rejected each time. Throughout her 2024 presidential campaign, media outlets reportedly highly edited Harris’s interviews. CBS’s parent company, Paramount, recently settled a lawsuit with Trump over their edits to a 60 Minutes interview with Harris, which Trump’s legal team claimed were deceptive. CBS had more on the settlement: Paramount will settle President Trump’s lawsuit over a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris for $16 million, the company announced late Tuesday. CBS News’ parent company worked with a mediator to resolve the lawsuit. Under the agreement, $16 million will be allocated to Mr. Trump’s future presidential library and the plaintiffs’ fees and costs. Neither Mr. Trump nor his co-plantiff, Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson, will be directly paid as part of the settlement. The settlement did not include an apology. Paramount also agreed that “60 Minutes” will release transcripts of interviews with presidential candidates in the future, “subject to redactions as required for legal or national security concerns,” the statement said. Mr. Trump’s lawsuit, filed last October when he was still a candidate for president, was widely viewed as an attack on the First Amendment. He took issue with CBS News airing two different portions of Harris’ response to a question about the Middle East, one in an early excerpt on “Face the Nation” and the other on the full broadcast of “60 Minutes.”
