BREAKING: Gavin Newsom SUES Trump Admin
A few days ago, we covered a story about President Trump defunding California’s disastrous high-speed rail project (good riddance!)
If you missed it, here’s the full scoop:
President Trump CANCELS Funding For California’s “High Speed Train to Nowhere”
Now, Gavin Newsom has responded...by suing the Trump administration.
Yesterday, Newsom filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for cutting off federal funding of the state's horribly-planned high-speed train project.
Newsom's press office announced:

NEW: @CAGovernorGavin Newsom JUST announced @CaHSRA is suing the Trump admin over its politically-motivated termination of $4 billion in federal grants.
“This is just a heartless attack on the Central Valley that will put real jobs and livelihoods on the line. We’re suing to stop Trump from derailing America’s only high-speed rail actively under construction.” - Gov. Newsom
Today’s action comes as the project enters the track laying phase, is actively building across 171 miles, has built more than 50 major railway structures – including bridges, overpasses, and viaducts – and completed over 60 miles of guideway.

Today’s action comes as the project enters the track laying phase, is actively building across 171 miles, has built more than 50 major railway structures – including bridges, overpasses, and viaducts – and completed over 60 miles of guideway. And in the last year, CA high-speed rail efforts have marked significant progress – with all environmental reviews spanning 463 miles from Los Angeles to the Bay Area complete, the electrification of Caltrain complete, trainset selection underway, station and track construction on deck, continued work with partner rail systems to create a southwest regional high-speed rail network, and more than 15,000 good paying jobs created.
Keep in mind that this high-speed train project, which was initially supposed to connect Los Angeles and San Francisco, was supposed to be done four years ago for the modest cost of $33 billion.
Somehow, that cost blew up over the years...by around $100 billion with no set deadline in sight.
It's now estimated that the project would be completed somewhere around 2030-2033, though a recent report indicates that it will miss that deadline, too.
As it stands, only 171 of the planned 800 miles are "under construction" -- not even completed, yet!
Ignore the noise. We’re busy building.
As we enter the track-laying phase, 171 miles are under active construction & we’ve already: COMPLETED 50 major structures COMPLETED 60 miles of guideway COMPLETED full enviro clearance from SF to LA CREATED 14,600 jobs pic.twitter.com/esbk0Gespb

And yet, Newsom is alleging that President Trump is shutting down the project out of political spite.
How does he not see that this whole thing was just a complete disaster from the get-go?
The American taxpayer shouldn't have to be forced to pay for this garbage!
A press release from the California website reads:
The lawsuit alleges that termination of the agreements is petty, political retribution, motivated by President Trump’s personal animus toward California and the high-speed rail project, not by facts on the ground.
Trump’s termination of federal grants for California high-speed rail reeks of politics. It’s yet another political stunt to punish California.
In reality, this is just a heartless attack on the Central Valley that will put real jobs and livelihoods on the line. We’re suing to stop Trump from derailing America’s only high-speed rail actively under construction.

Could it be that, in reality, Gavin is just mad his infinite bank account has been cut off?
You are about to be investigated for fraud and incredible waste. pic.twitter.com/bOgrGk7c3q
