JUST IN: Marco Rubio CANCELS Visas of Brazil Supreme Court Justice Alexandre Moraes & Other Officials

Brazil is finally being held accountable for the political witch-hunt against former President Jair Bolsonaro. President Trump has repeatedly made his support of Bolsanaro very clear. Most recently, he enacted 50% tariffs on all Brazilian imports, due in part to how the government has treated Bolsanaro! However, Brazil has only doubled down in their judicial persecution of Bolsanaro. And, the U.S. isn’t going to let that slide without consequences. Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio responded by canceling the visa of Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moras, as well as several other justices and top officials. Brazilian Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes’s political witch hunt against Jair Bolsonaro created a persecution and censorship complex so sweeping that it not only violates basic rights of Brazilians, but also extends beyond Brazil’s shores to target Americans. I have therefore ordered visa revocations for Moraes and his allies on the court, as well as their immediate family members effective immediately. Here’s the full list of all the justices and officials who have been sanctioned: Supreme Court Justices Alexandre de Moraes, Luís Roberto Barroso, Gilmar Mendes, Edson Fachin, Cármen Lúcia, Dias Toffoli, Cristiano Zanin and Flávio Dino Paulo Gonet Branco — General Council of the Republic Andrei Rodrigues — Director-General of the Federal Police, as well as Head of the Cybercrime Division Fábio Schor Ricardo Lewandowski — Attorney General Rodrigo Pacheco — Senator, former President of the Federal Senate It’s about time that Brazil be held accountable for what they are doing to Bolsanaro, who recently had his home raided. He is now forced to wear an ankle monitor and banned from contacting foreign leaders or using social media. Supreme Court Justice Moraes was the one who issued those restrictions. Reuters has more: Bolsonaro was banned from contacting foreign officials, using social media or approaching embassies, according to the decision issued by Moraes, who cited a “concrete possibility” of him fleeing the country. His home was raided by federal police and he had an ankle monitor placed on him. In an interview with Reuters at his party’s headquarters on Friday, Bolsonaro called Moraes a “dictator” and described the latest court orders as acts of “cowardice.” “I feel supreme humiliation,” he said, when asked how he felt about wearing the ankle monitor. “I am 70 years old, I was president of the republic for four years.” Bolsonaro denied any plans to leave the country, but said he would meet with Trump if he could get access to his passport, which police seized last year. He also said he had sought out the top U.S. diplomat in Brazil to discuss Trump’s tariff threat. Asked about Bolsonaro’s comments to Reuters, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said on Friday, citing previous comments from Trump, “Bolsonaro and his supporters are under attack from a weaponized court system.” In his decision, Moraes said the restrictions against Bolsonaro were due to accusations that the former president was making efforts to get the “head of state of a foreign nation” to interfere in Brazilian courts, which the judge cast as an attack on national sovereignty. Bolsonaro is on trial before Brazil’s Supreme Court on charges of plotting a coup to stop President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva from taking office in January 2023. Trump has in recent weeks pressed Brazil to stop the legal case against Bolsonaro, saying that his ally was the victim of a “witch hunt”. The U.S. president said last week he would impose a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods from August 1, in a letter that opened with criticism of the Bolsonaro trial. This all follows President Trump sending a personal letter to Bolsanaro, which you can read right here: Dear Mr. Bolsonaro: I have seen the terrible treatment you are receiving at the hands of an unjust system turned against you. This trial should end immediately! I am not surprised to see you leading in the polls; you were a highly respected and strong leader who served your country well. I share your commitment to listening to the voice of the people and I am very concerned about the attacks on free speech — both in Brazil and in the United States — coming out of the current government. I have strongly voiced my disapproval both publicly and through our Tariff policy. It is my sincere hope that the Government of Brazil changes course, stops attacking political opponents, and ends their ridiculous censorship campaign. I will be watching closely. Sincerely, Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America It’s ridiculous what’s going on in Brazil right now, and Trump’s administration has every right to sanction and tariff the crap out of them! Not to mention the fact that Moraes, in particular, is textbook villain material.
