Dealing with orphaned animals on a homestead can be touchy. In this case, the homesteader, Kate Woodard, found herself with a pig and a goat orphan. Horses are a bit trickier, but a nursing mare will often accept an orphaned foal. In June, they found themselves bottle-feeding an orphaned fawn. The couple has settled into homesteading and is busy collecting critters. They have numerous dogs, some goats, the little piglet, chickens, and bunnies. They are raising two children, Esme and Beck, and teaching them to love animals. As the two little orphans settle in together, Kate and Granger will continue collecting more strays.
