Raped girl at knifepoint at festival – running in church election

Domestic. A man from Syria who was convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl at the Emmaboda Festival in 2017 is now running in this fall's church elections.
- I was 20 years old at the time, says the now 29-year-old Emil Jordensson, originally from Syria, himself to Samnytt.

Emil Jordensson, formerly known as Noraldin Alhamamy, was sentenced in 2018 to two years and eight months in prison and deportation for rape.

According to the verdict, the girl had gone to bed alone in her tent at the Emmaboda Festival when the Syrian entered and raped her at knifepoint while biting her in the throat and chest.

– He has ruined my life, the girl said during the trial, according to Samnytt.

However, the expulsion was never carried out and the man changed his name to the more Swedish-sounding Emil Jordensson in 2020.

Jordensson, who is now a father of three, came to Sweden with his wife in connection with the asylum chaos of 2015. He claims that he became a Christian during his time in prison.

– It's completely different. When I was in prison I started reading about the Bible and about faith, and I've changed my mind from that time to now, he explains to Samnytt and claims that the girl voluntarily had sex with him.

This fall, Jordensson is running in the church election for the parish group Maria in Ljungby pastorate. He is in seventh place and hopes to be elected to the church council.

– Do you think I will come or not? asks the Syrian Samnytt journalist.

Emil Jordensson is not a Swedish citizen and can therefore still be deported to his home country if he is convicted.
