Surprising No One, KPop Demon Hunters Becomes Netflix’s Most Watched Movie Ever

News KPop Demon Hunters Surprising No One, KPop Demon Hunters Becomes Netflix’s Most Watched Movie Ever Sorry, Red Notice. Your time is over. By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on August 26, 2025 Credit: Netflix Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Netflix KPop Demon Hunters has been delighting millions ever since it came out on Netflix this June. It’s been so popular, in fact, that the streamer released a sing-along version in theaters last weekend and then dropped that sing-along version on their platform yesterday. The excitement around the film and the recent addition of KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along have finally made the movie the most watched Netflix film ever. It’s taken the No. 1 spot from the forgettable Red Notice, a 2021 action-comedy starring A-listers Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. (If you’re interested in the numbers, KPop has 236 million “views” since its premiere, while Red Notice garnered only 230.9 million in the same 13-week post-premiere time frame.) The love for KPop Demon Hunters doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. Billboard announced this week that the movie’s soundtrack is the first to have four songs simultaneously in the Top 10, and I can’t even imagine the level of cosplay and Halloween costumes we’ll see based on the movie. Speaking of the movie, here’s the synopsis if you’ve been living under a rock and/or don’t have younger people in your life: When they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet—an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise. The movie, of course, is available on Netflix for your (re)watching pleasure.
