Sublime has its first #1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart (dated September 20th) in nearly three decades with “Ensenada.” Ensenada The Ska/Punk band led the Alternative Airplay chart in 1996 with “What I Got,” just five months after Bradley Nowell’s overdose death. Twenty-eight years and ten months later, “Ensenada,” with vocalist Jakob Nowell, Bradley’s son, is at the top. It is the lengthiest time period between #1s in the Alternative Airplay chart’s 37-year history. What I Got Sublime formed in 1988 with Bradley Nowell, (vocals) Eric Wilson (bass) and Bud Gaugh (drums). The band broke up shortly following Nowell’s death.
