Possible Malfunction Prompts Emergency Response To American Airlines Jet

According to Daily Mail, emergency vehicles responded to an American Airlines plane at London’s Heathrow Airport due to a suspected malfunction. The plane, bound for Philadelphia, turned back to London not long after takeoff. “#AA737 didn’t get very far today before needing to return to London due to stuck flaps. The aircraft returned safely to LHR and taxied to a remote stand,” Flightradar24 stated. #AA737 didn't get very far today before needing to return to London due to stuck flaps. There have also been suggestions that concerns had been raised over the plane being overweight on landing. American Airlines have been approached for comment. The London Fire Brigade confirmed to the Daily Mail it had attended the scene, but that ‘no direct action’ was required by its firefighters. The dramatic scenes come just two days after the airport was hit by an outbreak of fire after a vehicle burst into flames and tore through the Terminal 3 car park. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters arrived on Wednesday to tackle the blaze as it wrecked the multi-storey facility. “A fire in a multi-level parking lot at London’s Heathrow Airport destroyed one car and damaged two others on Wednesday morning, authorities have said,” ABC News stated earlier this week. “No injuries were reported,” it added. This is an isolated incident. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience.” Heathrow was closed to all flights on March 21 until about 6pm after a fire at a nearby electricity substation late on the previous night. More than 270,000 air passenger journeys were disrupted by the incident.
