The Royal Family Has A Forbidden Food List That Might Surprise You
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be royal? Not just the pomp and circumstance of it all. We’re talking the day-to-day life of someone whose every move will be watched and often critiqued by others. We often wonder how Kate Middleton must have felt walking out into the world hours after giving birth with a full face of makeup, looking as if nothing had ever happened. It’s a tremendous amount of pressure, and there are rules about everything, including what you can and cannot eat. According to Parade, some members of the royal family will eat a special diet that might encourage or discourage certain foods. But that’s not all.

The Royal Family Has A List Of Banned Foods
If you ever thought about being a member of the royal family and dining at the royal table, you’ll have to be OK without eating garlic on any of your food or pasta. Royals also don’t eat shellfish and stay away from foods with a lot of spice or that may be considered exotic.
Of course, we can see why garlic wouldn’t be a favorite, as its pungent odor could be off-putting. However, apparently, pasta is a no-no because Queen Elizabeth didn’t like carbs at dinner.
Her former daughter-in-law, Princess Diana, apparently thought very differently, per Parade, former royal family chef Darren McGrady told Marie Claire about a time Diana took her boys on a fast-food run.
“I remember the Princess came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s. And I said, ‘Oh my god, your royal highness, I can do that, I can do burgers,’” he said.
But Diana, who we always knew was a fun mom, wasn’t having it. “‘No, it’s the toy they want.’ Yeah, the boys loved McDonald’s, going out to pizza, and having potato skins—sort of the American foods. They were royal princes but had children’s palates,” the former chef shared.
We love to learn about the lives of the royals. They really are just like the rest of us, but just way fancier.
