Joe Biden has officially begun new radiation treatment for his prostate cancer. Biden who was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in May, is now undergoing a new phase of radiation treatment. Along with receiving radiation treatment, Biden is also undergoing hormone treatment. NBC News reported more details on Biden’s cancer recovery journey: Former President Joe Biden is undergoing a new phase of treatment for an aggressive form of cancer that was diagnosed in May, a spokesperson said Saturday. “As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment,” according to the spokesperson for the former president. The radiation treatment is expected to span five weeks and marks a new point in his care, a source familiar told NBC News. He has already been taking a pill form of hormone medication. In a post on X after he shared his diagnosis, Biden said, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.” At the time, multiple oncologists told NBC News that given the nature of his cancer and the fact that it had already metastasized, it was possible that Biden’s affliction had gone undiagnosed for years. Shocking footage shared on social media showed the frail 82-year-old sporting a noticeably red wound across the front of his head, partly hidden by his white hair, while leaving a church in Rehoboth Beach. “I was a little surprised ’cause it’s a noticeable scar,” Fred Karger, who filmed the video and shared it to X Tuesday, told Inside Edition, which first broke the news Thursday. “It looks fresh, a little hair combed over the scar. It looks to me like someone who had several basal cells, skin cancers removed from his head.” Biden recently underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure used to treat skin cancer, his rep told The Post Thursday.
