Kip Moore Continues Big Year With Rockin’ New Single, “The Crown”

Continuing the hot streak. It’s not often you see an artist switch labels, release an album, release a deluxe version of said album, then proceed to drop another single off an entirely new project, all within the span of 13 months. However, that just seems to be par for the course for Kip Moore. As we all know, Moore has built a name for himself by doing things his own way. From cultivating a dedicated fanbase all the way in South Africa to sticking to his patented blend of country, rock and soul, the Georgia native has never been one to adhere to the conventions of the genre and whatever current trend is sweeping Nashville. This was put on full display back in February when he released yet another fantastic record, Solitary Tracks, which served as his sixth studio album and first under Virgin Music Group. Like nearly every one of his albums, Solitary Tracks was yet another wholly unique venture from Moore. From the high-energy tracks such as “Live Here To Work,” “Around You” and “Good Things Never Last,” which saw the “Last Shot” singer dabbling in a classic rock sound to the introspective musings of “Flowers In December,” “Forever Is A Lie” and “Learning As I Go,” the mammoth, 23-song album had a little bit for everyone. With that being said, however, he wasn’t done with the world of Solitary Tracks. Back in August, he released a deluxe version of the record, which contained live versions of the title track and “Rivers Don’t Run” along with the brand new, standout track, “American Heartbreak.” As 2025 slowly comes to a close, you would think that Moore would have been satisfied releasing a 26-track album, wrapping up the spring and summer portion of his Solitary Tracks World Tour and preparing for the final leg of his fall tour, which starts tonight in Pueblo, Colorado. That notion was proven false as he took to Instagram earlier this week to announce the release of another new single, “The Crown,” which was released today. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kip Moore (@kipmooremusic) Written by Moore along with Luke Preston and Andrew DeRoberts, “The Crown” finds the “Hey Pretty Girl” singer once again grappling with trying to keep his wild side at bay. Battling with the temptation to let loose and burn everything down, Moore ponders abandoning the current path he’s on in the first verse. “They say that Jesus saves, but the Devil buys a beer I’m trying to be good but I’ve got something in my ear Sayin’ burn it all down, set it on fire Yeah, I think I might go ahead and lose my grip Head straight for the rocks and go down with the ship And I can’t be the only one feeling this way tonight” This leads straight into the rocking chorus where Moore decides to let loose, live a little dangerously and ultimately abandon any fears that were holding him back. “Smoke ’em if you got ’em Drive it like you stole it Tip the bottle to the bottom Play the hand that you’re holdin’ Do no harm, take no shit Don’t talk too loud, keep a big stick Don’t start a fight if you can’t wear the crown Don’t turn it up if you can’t shut it down” For Moore, “The Crown” is all about having pent-up frustration within your own life and setting it free. Discussing the track, he’d note that its mission statement is to live life on your own path and ultimately abandon whatever fears are currently dominating your life. “The Crown’ is about having a lot of pent up of frustration – within your own fears and failures – along with your look at society. It’s choosing to finally say ‘f*** it’ and telling that fear to take a hike. And then there’s a forbearing at the end of the chorus, that if you let it rip too much there are consequences.” Much like his last release, “American Heartbreak,” “The Crown” is Moore in his sweet spot once again. Some of his most captivating work throughout his career centers around his internal battle between wanting to settle down and stay wild, and it’s captured well once again here. Though it may not be as compelling lyrically as the likes of “Fire and Flame,” “Learning As I Go” and “The Guitar Slinger,” the rocking production does an excellent job complementing the already solid lyrical effort here. “The Crown” Kip Moore Tour Dates 10.17 – Pueblo, CO – Pueblo Memorial Hall*^ 10.18 – Cheyenne, WY – The Lincoln*^ 10.23 – Boise, ID – Knitting Factory*^ 10.24 – Bozeman, MT – The Elm*^ 10.25 – Bozeman, MT – The Elm*^ 10.30 – Grand Rapids, MI – The Intersection *^ 10.31 – Detroit, MI – Saint Andrew’s Hall*^ 11.1 – Detroit, MI – Saint Andrew’s Hall*^ 11.6 – Columbia, MO – The Blue Note* 11.7 – Wichita, KS – The Cotillion* 11.8 – Lincoln, NE – Bourbon Theatre* 11.13 – Buffalo, NY – Town Ballroom* 11.14 – Sayreville, NJ – Starland Ballroom* 11.15 – Huntington, NY – The Paramount* 12.4 – Cincinnati, OH – Bogart’s# 12.5 – Cleveland, OH – House Of Blues# 12.6 – Pittsburgh, PA – Roxian Theatre# 12.11 – Portland, ME – State Theater* 12.12 – Stroudsburg, PA – Sherman Theater* 12.13 – Columbus, OH – The Bluestone* 12.18 – Nashville, TN – The Ryman Auditorium* 12.19 – Atlanta, GA – Buckhead Theatre* 12.20 – Chattanooga, TN – The Signal* *McCoy Moore *^Leon Majcen #Caylee Hammack  The post Kip Moore Continues Big Year With Rockin’ New Single, “The Crown” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
