WATCH: President Trump Hilariously Responds to “Not too Pretty” Obama Presidential Library

President Trump just directly addressed the monstrosity that is the Obama Presidential Library currently being built in Chicago. In the Oval Office today, Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese asked President Trump a question about the library. As soon as she mentioned it, President Trump hilariously exclaimed, “He needs HELP!” He then went on to absolutely blast the “not too pretty” construction project as a result of DEI. Watch President Trump’s funny, and totally accurate, response for yourself right here: REPORTER: They’re building the Obama Presidential Library- PRESIDENT TRUMP: He needs HELP! […] They’re hundreds of millions over budget…and that’s the way our country was run under President Obama too. How can’t you love him You’ve gotta love President Trump, always telling it like it is! And, he’s right, of course. If you haven’t seen the thing by now, it’s really freaking ugly, to put it plainly. Not only is the building hideous, but its construction has also been plagued with delays and issues that have skyrocketed the budget from $300 million to $850 million! A lot of those delays have been caused by Obama’s commitment to hiring DEI contractors for the project. Most people hate the new Obama Library, without even realizing that it is the perfect example of DEI over merit. The Obama Foundation selected an inexperienced black woman as lead architect, and committed that more than 50% of contracts would go to minority-owned businesses. The result: -> The design has been universally panned -> Years of delays -> $300 million over budget and counting -> A $40 million lawsuit from a black-owned concrete subcontractor alleging racial discrimination after being blamed for defective work like cracked slabs and exposed rebar. As President Trump said, you get what you ask for! The Washington Examiner provided more details on all the complications: Construction for the Obama Presidential Center has been ongoing since its groundbreaking ceremony in September 2021. Finally nearing completion, the project is expected to open in spring 2026. However, Trump knocked at his first predecessor’s commitment to empowering female and diverse construction workers. “He needs help,” he answered in response to a question from Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese about the building’s brutalist architecture that has been recently ridiculed online. “It’s not too pretty.” “It’s closed. It’s stopped. They ran out of money,” Trump continued. “They’re stuck, and he wanted only women and DEI to build it. Well, that’s what they got.” Earlier this year, the engineering firm responsible for building Obama’s presidential library was hit with a $40 million lawsuit filed by a black-owned concrete subcontractor over alleged racial discrimination. The subcontractor claimed the engineering firm’s professional criticism amounted to racially discriminatory practices that forced it to do extra work and put it on the verge of bankruptcy. The lawsuit drew national attention to the library’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals for its construction contracts, which required at least 35% of subcontracts to be owned by minorities. Delays have plagued the project for the past four years, contributing to an estimated total cost of $850 million. When the project was first proposed, it was estimated to cost about $300 million. What a waste of time and taxpayer money for something so…unsightly. It doesn’t even look like a library. A lot of people are comparing it to something out of Star Wars: The Obama library is a cross between the Death Star and the Jawas Sandcrawler. pic.twitter.com/xe2zkXdSIW — Dave Rubin (@RubinReport) October 21, 2025 Obama’s Presidential Library is going to be Disney’s most expensive yet most realistic Star Wars attraction to date.
