The Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan has been a huge fan of Punk Rock music throughout his whole life, and of course, he is a big fan of Iggy Pop, who, with The Stooges, is considered the godfather of that genre, since the kind of music they made was a pioneering form of what would later become Punk. He is a good friend of Iggy and had the chance to work with him on two studio albums. The first one was "Brick By Brick" in 1990 when he played the bass in the tracks: "Home", "Butt Town", "Pussy Power" and "My Baby Wants to Rock and Roll". 33 years later, he would have another chance to work with Pop, this time on the album "Every Loser", playing the bass and co-writing three songs. Answering fans' questions on Youtube, he recalled what is like to perform with the musician. Duff McKagan tells what is like to play with Iggy Pop "Well, I've done it a couple times now, I'm fortunate enough to say, in my lifetime. He is a hero and he is a badass. He's the real deal. And you get in a room with Iggy, you'd better be prepared. And getting to write some music for him on this latest record was super fun. We got to play some shows with him — me and Chad (Smith), (Andrew) Watt, Jamie (Hince) from The Kills and Matt (Clifford) from The Rolling Stones. A really killer band." "Playing with Iggy is… yeah.
