Deputy White House Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller is not messing around when it comes to interference with ICE operations by anyone, including Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. Last night, Miller appeared on Fox News, where he discussed Gov. Pritzker’s attempts to prevent ICE from carrying out arrests and deportations in Illinois. Miller issued a stark warning to Pritzker and and any other officials engaged in a “criminal conspiracy” to obstruct ICE, saying that they could face “seditious conspiracy” charges. It applies to ANY state official, local official, anybody who’s operating in an official capacity who conspires or engages in activity that unlawfully impedes federal law enforcement conducting their duties.” “There’s obstruction of justice. There is harboring illegal aliens. There is impeding the enforcement of our immigration laws. Then as you get up the scale of behavior, you obviously get into seditious conspiracy charges, depending on the conduct, and many other offenses!” “If you engage in a criminal conspiracy to obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws or to unlawfully order your own police officers or your own officials to try to interfere with ICE officers, or even to arrest ICE officers, you’re engaged in criminal activity!” “To all ICE officers, you have federal IMMUNITY in the conduct of your duties! And anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop you or tries to obstruct you is committing a FELONY.” “If officials cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will face JUSTICE.” BOOM! Of course, seditious conspiracy charges carry a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison. Miller’s warning comes as Pritzker continues to take actions aimed at ensuring Illinois is a “safe haven” for illegal criminals. Most recently, Pritzker signed an executive order creating a commission to record “unlawful” acts by ICE agents and “recommend” ways to hold them accountable. While discussing the new order, Pritzker again compared President Trump and ICE to Nazi Germany. Fox News has more details on that: Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker ridiculed President Donald Trump’s claim that ICE agents are going after the “worst of the worst” in their crackdown on illegal immigration in Illinois on Thursday. “They’re literally going after Black and Brown people because of the color of their skin,” the governor told “Special Report.” Pritzker, who created theIllinois Accountability Commissionto track ICE agents’ conduct, insisted there are instances of misconduct “all the time.” The vocal Trump critic has compared the president’s ICE crackdown to Nazi Germany and called ICE agents Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s “thugs.” However, he told “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier his state will help law enforcement who have a judicial warrant to deport violent criminals. “We want the bad guys off the streets,” Pritzker said. “What we don’t want is for people to get racially profiled. That’s what’s happening right now.” When Baier pressed Pritzker on his comparisons against ICE agents, the governor stood behind his comments. “I’m talking about what they were doing, taking away people’s rights, arresting people, asking them for papers,” Pritzker said. “Early on in an authoritarian regime, wherever it is in the world throughout history, this is what happens,” he continued. “It’s the beginning of something very bad for a country, especially a constitutional republic.” What do you think?
