“Riley Didn’t Invite Her Up, Tequila Did” – Riley Green Fan Wanders On Stage During Performance Of “There Was This Girl”
Big fan of “There Was This Girl,” I guess.
Over the weekend, Riley Green had an unexpected guest jump onstage during a performance of his first #1 hit single, which was apparently a decision induced by tequila… I think many of us have been there before.
Country artist Annie Bosko shared footage of it on her social media accounts, and apparently the fan in question is her sister, Katie, who decided to add a little excitement to the concert. In the video, you see her just walk right up onstage, wave a little bit, and then Riley’s security guard promptly comes up and ushers her offstage. Annie shared in the caption on Instagram that her sister had told her she wanted to “support her career,” though she obviously didn’t know this is what she meant by that, in addition to apologizing to team Riley for the disruption:
“She said she wanted to ‘support my career’… didn’t know she meant onstage. FYI Riley didn’t invite her up — tequila did… and there was definitely more than one in her hand. God help me. Apologies team Riley.”
Katie commented on the post and said she was actually trying to “support his career” and wanted to see a “backup dancer” onstage:
“I was trying to support his career!! Also he had no backup dancers and you know how much I love being a backup dancer. Can I be your backup dancer?”
It was obviously harmless, and she was onstage for maybe a total of 20 second or less, but it’s a rare that a wild, on-stage fan encounter comes from someone that was allowed to be back there. And it’s true, tequila really does make everything sound like a good idea…
Maybe next time she should just throw a bra like all the other girls, and save herself the trouble of getting escorted out by security:
