Reba McEntire Moved To Tears After “The Voice” Performance Reminds Her Of Late Stepson
Music evokes emotion like no other medium. It can strike when we least expect it. A song comes on the radio, or while we’re at the grocery store, or in a movie, and suddenly we transport to another place in time. It’s a beautiful way to remember, but it can also bring up painful memories. Reba McEntire is a fun-loving coach on The Voice whose own music can certainly bring tears to your eyes. Aubrey Nicole’s powerful voice touched Reba’s soul during this season’s blind auditions, and she knew she had to have her on Team Reba. Aubrey agreed, and it started a beautiful relationship.
Aubrey Nicole Brought Reba McEntire To Tears The First Time She Heard Her
Reba McEntire turned in her chair to 19-year-old Aubrey Nicole, tears in her eyes. She told the singer that her performance positively touched her heart and soul. During her October 27 performance, Aubrey did it again. She performed I’m Gonna Love You Through It, a Martina McBride cover that’s filled with emotion.
After her performance, Reba McEntire wiped away tears and shared a very personal message.
“I lost my oldest son, because he did not win with cancer,” she said. “So that was a real reminder that life goes on, and we sing songs about it, so we can remember the ones that are around us that we love so much and that we lean on at times like this.”
But it wasn’t just Reba, Aubrey’s performance made many fans emotional.
“Her performance was so raw, beautiful, and touching. Definitely was shedding some tears,” a fan shared on YouTube. “Beautiful vocals and storytelling.”
“My mom died 9 years ago from cancer. It is hard to watch a loved one go through. This lady can sing. God bless,” another fan shared.
Aubrey Nicole has one gorgeous voice and is a force to be reckoned with this season.
