The UN wants to impose it’s own GREEN INITIATIVE on the world, and they’re not ready to give up. The latest push comes in the form of a carbon tax affixed to global shipping. We’re talking an estimated $100,000,000,000 in the first 7 years alone of taxation impacting every American household. In case you missed our recent reporting, several weeks ago the United Nations was poised to move forward on the tax plan by authorizing the UN’s International Maritime Organization to levy the tax against sovereign nations via ocean shipping. In this way, the UN would effectively be taxing Americans billions of dollars every year. President Trump rightfully expressed his outrage a few weeks ago in a post to Truth Social, and called on more nations to stand with the US against the tax as the vote loomed. Here’s my story from just a few weeks ago as I covered the leadup to that historic vote as President Trump attempted to thwart the UN tax plan: The UN is About to Start TAXING Americans, President Trump ‘OUTRAGED’ For the time being, President Trump managed to stop the UN's attack on national sovereignty. But, only for the time being. The vote didn't kill the plan; it only postponed it -- as reported in this story following the delayed decision covered by Fox News: After a U.S.-led campaign, the United Nations has postponed a vote on a proposal to impose the world’s first global carbon tax on shipping, delaying the decision by one year. The rule was expected to come up for a vote this week as part of the U.N. International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) "Net-Zero Framework." But a majority of member nations voted to defer it after failing to reach consensus amid U.S. opposition. Washington and Riyadh led the opposition. Saudi Arabia introduced a motion Friday to delay discussions for one year, which passed with 57 countries in favor and 49 opposed. The Trump administration came out forcefully against the measure this week, calling it an "unconstitutional global tax" that would drive up energy and consumer prices. In a series of statements, President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz vowed that the United States would vote a "hard no" when delegates meet in London on Friday and urged allies to do the same. (Emphasis added.) In the immediate aftermath, President Trump's victory was lauded as COMPLETE victory over the planned tax. Stephen Moore with the Wall Street Journal, for example, shared the President's initial post -- and proclaimed 'Now the tax is DEAD': Two weeks ago, no one was watching.⁰The UN was ready to impose a $150 BILLION carbon tax on U.S. exports.⁰We sounded the alarm. The media caught fire. Trump took action. Now the tax is DEAD. pic.twitter.com/2e91x6v7xA — Stephen Moore (@StephenMoore) October 20, 2025 Unfortunately, that has proven not to be fully accurate. As you read in that Fox News excerpt -- the key part I highlighted in bold -- those backing the global tax didn't allow the vote to be put forward in a way that it could be effectively STOPPED. At least, not for good. They settled for a 'not yet' and tactically avoided what was sure to be a deathblow to their plans... enabling them to bring it back up for a vote next year, instead. But what may have been a tactical victory in the near-term may yet prove to be the UN's undoing. As calls from within the US to WITHDRAW from the United Nations altogether have ramped up following President Trump's rousing opposition to their tax plan. The globalists are underestimating the one key component that has already supercharged the world's freedom-minded peoples against them. No global governance should EVER be allowed to superimpose it's illegitimate GODLESS authority over and above that of free people within the LEGITIMATE bounds of their own sovereign nation. If taxation is theft -- and it is -- then taxation on a global scale is the epitome of a beastly crime against humanity.  (Subtle Biblical pun intended.) It's just one more example of the international globalists attempting to subvert US sovereignty, as covered in this report earlier in the week from the National Review: This tax is especially egregious because it is a violation of the sovereignty of the U.S. and other nations. A U.N. international body would be imposing a tax on Americans, something that appears to be a first. The tax, according to the State Department, could increase global shipping costs by 10 percent or more. It’s also yet another example of Europe and the U.N. trying to dictate the domestic climate policies of other countries. The State Department made it clear that it understood the fundamental problem this posed when it stated that the U.S. would penalize nations “that sponsor this European-led neocolonial export of global climate regulations.” Fortunately, the Trump administration helped to delay a vote on the IMO tax plan for a year, but it is still looming. A tax delayed is not a tax canceled. (Emphasis added.) Thankfully, President Trump got right to work and stopped the plan when it was on the verge of successfully being passed by the United Nations. But this should serve as a twofold lesson for American conservatives after years of DOMESTIC threats to our sacred liberty: The threats can still come from abroad. Those intent on creating a single global government and empowering themselves to enforce it will never stop -- regardless of who is in the White House. There is ongoing debate about who first said, "the cost of liberty is eternal vigilance". Regardless of who originated that phrasing in early America, it is incredibly true... nonetheless. And I bring you this story as a follow-up for that purpose. I believe we have a man in the White House, imperfect though he is just like the rest of us, being used by God in powerful ways to chart a course for America that looks a WHOLE LOT MORE like the America I vaguely remember. An America that I believe is pushing back towards the (un)common sense imbued by the Founders. But those enemies... both foreign and domestic... are never going to quit trying to chip away at the foundation of what we had -- and are trying to again regain. Eternal vigilance, indeed. Don't let up just because President Trump is in the White House and good things are happening. The enemies of this great nation are NOT GOING AWAY.  They'll NEVER STOP. And neither can 'we the people' when it comes to watching and working to uphold our shared love of liberty. And our understanding that our national unity hinges on that one thing above all else. Our liberty, and thus our national sovereignty, IS our nation. If we ever let 'them' take it... we will have given up everything it means to be American. And God forbid we ever let that happen. That vote will come back around in a year.  And then again, sometime after that.  Until ultimately they pull it off. What if, instead of waiting for the inevitable and continuing to even SIT AT THE TABLE with the globalists... What if the United States of American PULLED THE RUG out from under the UN before that can happen -- since we can clearly see the handwriting on the wall already? Now that's a story I'd LOVE to write!
