Tremonti was founded by guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, best known for his work with Creed and Alter Bridge. The project began in 2011 when Tremonti decided to explore a heavier, more aggressive sound that differed from his previous bands. Based in Orlando, Florida, Tremonti formed the group with drummer Garrett Whitlock and bassist Brian Marshall, both of whom had worked with him in Alter Bridge.
