We’re 43 days in to the longest government shutdown in US history, depending on how you do the math. The House is expected to vote in just a few hours on the plan to end it following a handful of Democrat Senators who magically decided to get onboard. And so I wanted to take a moment to point out exactly why this all happened to begin with! A full six weeks ago, the Democrats were up in arms because the Trump Administration DARED blame them for the shut down. And Republicans even had the audacity to claim that it was because Democrats were demanding funding for FREE HEALTHCARE for illegals living in the US… ILLEGALY. Audacious?  Maybe.  But was it a FACTUAL CLAIM??? That’s not a hard thing to fact check, considering Democrats have overwhelmingly gone on record with their stance! Here’s a full 5+ minutes of Democrats — IN THEIR OWN WORDS — proving exactly what they tried to whitewash in the media as just another ‘conspiracy theory’. And like almost all of those ‘theories’… this one has been proven out to be conspiratorial, but far more FACTUAL then THEORY. This is the last thing they want you to remember right now; and that’s the very reason I’m bringing it up. Even with the Trump Administration going on a social media blitz in an attempt to draw attention to the reality… The blanket coverage of most left-leaning media was ferociously painting the Republican claim as the political version of “Nu-uh, you did”. But the reality, as shown in that one video, and which the Trump Administration consistently argued… was far more substantial against the Democrats than the media would ever admit. In the world of politics, there are often nuances that need to be taken into account in order to get the REAL story beneath the story that is presented. But not so much in this instance.  (At least, not once you see behind the veil of how state OPERATED and federally FUNDED healthcare for illegals actually played out.) And wouldn’t you know it — those left-leaning media outlets that toted the Democrat’s line, claiming they weren’t trying to get Republicans to give FREE HEALTHCARE to illegals…? They are still holding the line on that point, even with Democrats caught on record over and over again saying the quiet part out loud. But they are now admitting the other reason — that the shutdown was also tied to keeping the most radical wing of the Democrat base enraged against President Trump in order to bolster the turnout in last week’s elections. You don’t say! Check out this SUDDENLY TRUTHFUL report admitting it all, from NBC News: Democrats shut down the federal government to secure a key demand: extending health care subsidies for millions of Americans. After a more than 40-day standoff, they threw in the towel — with no guarantee from Republicans that they would agree to renew the expiring Obamacare tax credits. Progressive activists and their Democratic allies in Congress, who had wanted the party to fight on longer, decried it as a monumental “cave” to an authoritarian in Donald Trump. While emotions are raw and finger-pointing rampant in the wake of the deal, the Democratic Party was unified during most of the record shutdown, which is now in its 43rd day, demonstrating for the first time it could take on Trump, rev up the progressive base and turn out voters at the polls, as it did in this month’s elections. “I think the Democrats did … some of the best messaging I think we’ve ever had in terms of talking about affordability and talking about health insurance,” said Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., who voted against reopening the government. “And I think that was the reason why you saw the results coming in, in New Jersey and Virginia, and that you saw that the polling was going our way.” (Emphasis added.) In reality, the Democrat’s initial line of attack for funding healthcare for illegal aliens proved completely unreasonable. Their fallback position ended up being an attempt to make the shutdown all about simply standing up to President Trump. Intended as proof to the radical base that they were challenging the one they’d spent months (years?) calling ‘Hitler’ and ‘Nazi’. But, still, Democrats eventually had to cave to the so-called “Nazi”, which required a NEW fallback political position. And that came in the form of assuming that everyone would probably blame the Trump Administration and Republicans ANYWAY. Except, that was more of a hope and dream than a realistic strategy — as explained perfectly by Rep. Check out this clip from nearly a month ago when President Trump’s Sec. of Transportation asked ‘average Americans’ going about their business at an airport what they really thought about the shutdown. The jig was already up.  Almost no one was buying the Democrats claim that REPUBLICANS had shut down the government. And here was the EARLY proof that the Democrats ignored… because they simply didn’t have anything substantial to go with: I asked average Americans at the airport what they think about the Schumer-Jeffries Shutdown. Now… the handful of Democrats in the Senate who just voted with Republicans to end the shutdown are going with a new tagline. Again, they’re trying to justify shutting down large portions of the government by twisting it into some sort of ‘win’. Now they’re claiming they did it for the federal employees who were laid off during the shutdown. Did you catch that? The Democrats who just voted with Republicans to end the shutdown are trying to say that the shutdown they caused… IS ULTIMATELY A WIN for them… because they ‘forced’ the White House to restore those employees who were laid off during the shutdown (that they caused…). That’s a bit like tanking the job market, and claiming a ‘win’ because a few of them manage to come back. But that’s actually the logic they’re going with, according to this from The Hill: Sen. Tim Kaine (Va.), who nearly a decade ago served as Hillary Clinton’s running mate when she lost the presidency to Donald Trump, was the eighth Democratic senator to back a centrist deal the Senate is set to approve Monday that is likely to soon end the longest shutdown in American history. Kaine’s top priority was to protect thousands of federal workers the Trump administration was attempting to fire during the government closure. “We had a caucus meeting at 6 [p.m.]. … I walked in just with a deadpan face and they’re like, ‘What’s going on?’ I said, ‘We got the language we need,’” he said. Democrats are likely to battle for months over the decisions made by seven Democrats and Independent Sen. Angus King (Maine), who caucuses with Democrats, to back a deal that does nothing to extend subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that are set to expire at the end of the year. Thune did promise a Senate vote on the health care subsidies issue as part of the package, but there’s no guarantee an extension will pass the Senate or get a vote in the House. King said it became increasingly clear as the shutdown dragged on for weeks that Republicans would not agree to extend the ObamaCare subsidies. “The position the Republicans have been taking all along is, ‘we’re not going to negotiate about the ACA as long as the government is shut down.’ Maybe in the first week, we weren’t so sure they were for real. In the second week, third, fourth, fifth, sixth week, it became clear that the [Democratic] strategy wasn’t working. They weren’t going to come back and say, ‘We want to do something on the ACA,’” King explained. In backing the deal, the Democrats abandoned Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) strategy of keeping the government shut down to win major health care concessions. (Emphasis added.) So in a nutshell, the Democrats shut down the government initially because they had painted themselves into a corner. They couldn’t FORCE Republicans to fund their state operated (federally funded…) HEALTCHARE FOR ILLEGALS plan. Check. And then?  Then, the Democrat leadership had to find some way to get out of the losing pit they'd dug for themselves and try not to look as foolish -- or as DECEITFUL -- as they have been in reality. So 43 days in, they abandoned any real hope of FORCING Republicans to subsidize Obamacare. They have abandoned their initial ridiculous attempt at trying to salvage their somewhat-covert and federally funded HEALTHCARE FOR ILLEGALS scams operating at the state level. And now, they're simply claiming they stuck up for the federal employees that were laid off -- because of the shutdown caused by DEMOCRATS, which they're counting on being blamed on President Trump. And they're hoping no one pays attention to that complete lack of reason or logic. Not a good look, Dems. But then again... it's been awhile since the last time that happened.
