“We Live In A Fascist State” – Unruly Passenger Prompts Emergency Landing Of Flight Carrying Multiple Congress Members

A disruptive passenger prompted an emergency landing of an American Airlines flight carrying four members of Congress to the nation’s capital. The flight was carrying Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ), along with Republican Reps. Eli Crane, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar from Arizona. The outburst caused the flight to make an emergency stop in Kansas City after taking off from Phoenix. “Flying to DC rn to vote no on CR that fails to lower health care costs. @RepEliCrane, @RepAndyBiggsAZ & @RepGosar all on this flight. We’re making emergency stop in Kansas City to remove disruptive passenger. None of my colleagues is the disruptor. Freedom Caucus losing its mojo,” Stanton said. “On a serious note, thank you Kansas City police for handling the situation professionally and without incident,” he added. Stanton and his GOP opponents in Arizona were able to get to DC in time for the vote on ending the government shutdown, which the Democrats voted against. The House voted 222-209 to pass the Senate’s funding bill, which will restart food assistance programs for over 40 million Americans, and re-open paychecks for federal employees, including air traffic controllers. Additional provisions include increased security funding for officials and members of Congress, and reinstating workers laid off during the shutdown. The funding bill has been criticized by Democrats for failing to prevent healthcare costs from soaring. After the funding bill was passed on Wednesday night, President Trump signed it into law, marking the end of the longest federal government shutdown in US history. “We live in a fascist state,” the unruly passenger told others. We thank our customers for their patience and our crew members for their professionalism.” Stanton said he was returning to Washington to vote against the Republican continuing resolution when the plane made the unscheduled landing. Meanwhile, the three Arizona Republicans on the flight have been advocating for ending the shutdown by approving the legislation.
