Five Finger Death Punch/Babymetal Rule

With “The End” Five Finger Death Punch have landed their 17th #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart (dated 11/22) while Babymetal, who is featured on the track, is the first Japanese act to top the survey. The End “The End” is FFDP’s thirteenth #1 in a row on Mainstream Rock and the band now has the lengthiest streak in the survey’s four-decade history. The run began in ’18 with “Sham Pain” and includes last summer’s one-week reign of “I Refuse,” featuring In This Moment’s Maria Brink. FFDP are only behind Shinedown and Three Days Grace for the most #1s on the chart. “The End” previously reached #1 on the Japanese iTunes Metal chart and was the first song featuring Japanese lyrics to chart on U.S. Rock radio. “Five Finger Death Punch and Babymetal had performed at the same festival overseas back in 2015, so I was really happy thinking they might have remembered me from then,” shared Babymetal vocalist Su-Meta. ”I sang Japanese lyrics inspired by the original lyrics of ‘The End’ and spent a lot of time experimenting to find the voice that best fit such a deep, cool track.” . Babymetal “The End” was initially recorded for FFDP’s ’22’s “AfterLife” album and was reimagined for “Best Of (Volume 2)” which held re-recordings of the band’s hits. ### .
