Ritchie Blackmore postpones 2025 tour dates due to a health issue

Blackmore's Night, the band focused on Renaissance music formed by legendary Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (80) and his wife Candice Night, has postponed all their remaining 2025 tour dates due to unspecified medical reasons. "All Blackmore's Night shows postponed at this point due to medical reasons. We are sorry for any inconvenience," the group's social media said. They had six scheduled tour dates but only played two shows. Their show in Alexandria, Virginia last November 9 even had a surprise, since the band performed a cover of Deep Purple's "Child in Time". "We've never done that before, and we're never doing it again!" Ritchie Blackmore said. The musician had a few health problems during the past years, including a heart attack in 2023. At the time, his wife talked about that with Total Rock: "Ritchie has actually been told by a cardiologist not to get in a plane. He's got six stents. ...I can't believe he's gonna be 80, he doesn't look it, still doesn't act it. But eventually medical things catch up with you."
