Vice President JD Vance Responds To Democrat Lawmakers Who Urged the Military To Ignore Trump’s Order
These six democrats need to face accountability for their reckless statements.
As WLT Report previously reported, a group of Democrat lawmakers released a video last week calling for members of the U.S. intelligence community and the military to ignore President Trump’s orders.
In the video the lawmakers claim to have concerns about the Trump administration’s military actions on Venezuela drug boats and call for members of the military to no longer follow Trump’s “illegal” orders.
Now Vice President JD Vance has weighed on the alarming video.
The Hill provided the following details on Vance’s remarks:
Vice President Vance said Sunday that six Democratic lawmakers violated the law by telling service members to disobey illegal orders.
“If the president hasn’t issued illegal orders, then members of Congress telling the military to defy the president is by definition illegal,” Vance said on the social platform X.
Earlier this week, Democratic Sens. Elissa Slotkin (Mich.) and Mark Kelly (Ariz.) and Reps. Chris Deluzio (D-Pa.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.) and Jason Crow (Colo.) directly addressed active-duty military and intelligence personnel in a video on X, saying, “Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders.”
All six lawmakers have backgrounds in military or intelligence.
President Trump responded by calling the group “traitors” on his Truth Social platform and later said that they were guilty of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”
On Saturday evening, the president repeated his sedition assertions and said the lawmakers “SHOULD BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW.”
Vance was responding to Slotkin telling host Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” that she is “not aware” of any illegal military actions authorized by Trump.
Since returning to office in January, the president has deployed or attempted to send the National Guard to Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Memphis; and other cities, citing concerns about crime or protests against immigration enforcement.

President Trump also responded to the Democrat’s video but posted a stronger statement than Vance, per ABC News:
President Donald Trump on Thursday called several Democratic veterans and national security specialists “traitors” who should face the death penalty for releasing a joint video where they said that U.S. service members could refuse illegal orders — a move that has prompted some lawmakers to call the president’s rhetoric “dangerous” and “a threat.”
“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???,” Trump wrote on social media Thursday morning.
Trump also reshared a social media post responding to the Washington Examiner’s article about the Democrats, calling for them to be hanged.
In another post, the president said “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”
In the video directed at military members, Democrats — including Sens. Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly — said that military service members can refuse illegal orders.
“This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens,” the congressional Democrats said in the video posted Tuesday.
