WashPost Casts Soros As Conspiracy Theory Victim After Exposing His Power Over DAs

Apparently, even when leftist media outlets choose to expose the massive political machine of George Soros, they still try to make America’s most notorious billionaire look like a victim of conspiracy theories. Enter The Washington Post. Post reporter Beth Reinhard published a story on how Soros "changed criminal justice in America." It effectively amounted to a stunning exposé on Soros’s nefarious overhauling of America’s criminal justice system into a soft-on-crime monstrosity in line with his dark "open society" worldview. Reinhard first soft-balled how Soros “set out a decade ago to elect district attorneys who would steer drug offenders and juveniles toward rehabilitation instead of prison, oppose cash bail for minor crimes, and crack down on police misconduct.” Then, after detailing Soros’s involvement in a high profile 2022 Maine DA race, Reinhard cut out all the fluff: “The district attorney race in Cumberland County, Maine, is among dozens around the country that Soros has bent to advance his criminal justice agenda, showing how a single billionaire can change the course of public policy.” Sounds like The Post finally caught wind of what MRC Business had been reporting about Soros and his twisting of American criminal justice for years. In 2024, MRC Business released its year-long investigation into Soros’s ties with district and state attorneys based on 7,785 pages of internal communications obtained through public information requests from dozens of Soros-backed prosecutors. The documents unearthed a shocking level of control by the Soros-funded groups over the prosecutors. The Soros machine sets their policies and priorities, staffs their offices with hand-picked leftists, dictates media narratives, lobbies government officials and perverts the American justice system. MRC Business tallied that Soros spent $117 million at least on this legal vendetta.  Amazingly, after detailing the fortunes he’s spent on a litany of DA races steering them to his preferred outcome, Reinhard then made Soros out to be unjust political target of President Donald Trump right-wing anti-Semitism: His wealth and Jewish background have made him a frequent target of antisemitic conspiracy theories in the U.S. and abroad that cast him as a puppet master manipulating the media and financial markets. President Donald Trump has repeatedly accused Soros and his son of supporting violent protests, without evidence, and has threatened them with criminal charges. “Without evidence?” The basis for the Trump Justice Department’s investigation into Soros stemmed from a groundbreaking Capital Research Center report revealing that he funneled at least $80 million into organizations tied to domestic and foreign terrorism. Some of the Soros-funded terror-linked organizations include the radical climate-obsessed, youth-led Sunrise Movement, which the CRC noted “endorsed the Antifa-linked Stop Cop City campaign, in which activists currently face over 40 domestic terrorism charges and 60 racketeering indictments.” The coalition engaged in variety of riot activities like “setting a police vehicle ablaze; throwing Molotov cocktails, bricks and rocks at police; setting construction equipment on fire; blocking roads with obstacles like tires; harming police officers’ eyes with lasers; and attacking the Atlanta Police Foundation’s building with fireworks.” Alexa, define "evidence" for Miss Reinhard.  Imagine the level of irony in writing an exposé on a liberal billionaire you argue is heavily distorting the democratic process for his own ends, only to then undercut your own reporting by making him out to be a victim. That’s exactly what Reinhard just managed to do with impunity. Here’s a tip for Reinhard: If you really didn’t want to do this profile on Soros without protecting him, then don’t do it.
