The rise of Creed began when a group of Florida musicians recognized how naturally their individual strengths aligned and how quickly their writing chemistry developed. The band formed in Tallahassee through the partnership of vocalist Scott Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti, a relationship that expanded when they brought in bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips.
