Suspicion: Immigrant woman tried to poison four at an Academic hospital

Domestic. A woman in her 60s with immigrant backgrounds from the Middle East has requested to be remanded on suspicion of attempting to murder four employees at Uppsala University Hospital.


The incident is linked to the poisonings that occurred in late October and early November, when four people who worked in the children's ward became ill after ingesting an unknown substance.

Police suspected early on that someone may have poisoned them and therefore launched an investigation into attempted murder.

The woman, who is employed in the children's ward, was arrested last Friday - then at the lower rate of suspicion.

"After this weekend's investigative measures, I have made a new assessment and now the suspicions have been strengthened," prosecutor Emma Häggström said in a press release.

The woman's defender, lawyer Stefan Wallin, does not want to go into what the client herself says about the allegations, according to Aftonbladet.
