Jelly Roll Reveals He Has Over 30 Pounds Of Loose Skin On His Body After Dramatic Weight Loss: “Not As Bad As The 500 That Was Hanging”

Another vulnerable truth about his weight loss. Jelly Roll recently sat down with Joe Rogan for an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, where one of his dreams came true as he was asked to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. View this post on Instagram While that emotional moment was easily a standout part of the podcast episode, another highlight of the conversation was the hard truths Jelly Roll revealed about his massive weight-loss transformation. The public has witnessed the incredible physical transformation Jelly Roll has made over the past couple of years. At his highest, the country singer (whose real name is Jason DeFord) weighed around 550 pounds, but he knew he had to make a change. Jelly Roll recently admitted that it got to the point that he was “disgusted” with himself and struggling to do daily tasks: “A little bit over a year ago, I was, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox. I mean, it was really bad. And I had let myself get to a point of just being absolutely disgusted with myself.” He even had trouble wiping after using the bathroom: “I would have to put my arm on the wall and turn a little bit, making sure the wall would keep it that way…You have no clue what a 550 lb man has to do to wipe.” And his personal health consultant, Gary Brecka, says that Jelly Roll got to the point that he was afraid he would die in his sleep: “He would say, ‘I have to sleep on my side and wedge myself in with pillows, because if I roll on my back at night, I’ll suffocate. I’ll vomit.’ He was like, ‘I never turn the radio down in the car, because when I pull up to a spotlight, I can hear myself wheezing. So I’ll just turn the radio up to bury the sound of my own breath wheezing. Every morning that he would wake up… he would thank God that he didn’t die that night, because he felt like he was gonna die every night he went to sleep.” On the podcast, Jelly Roll also very candidly admitted that having intimacy issues with his wife was also a huge motivator for him to lose weight. “My sex life with my wife was horrible. Dude, I married a f—ing big t–ty blonde, beautiful woman, you know what I mean? I married the kind of woman that makes you smile when you cry. And I couldn’t even get aroused because I was so big. I was having to play Twister to have sex. ‘Left foot here, right foot in the X, are we in there yet? Tell me if you feel something.’” There’s no doubt that Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, is enjoying his transformation as much as anyone. She’s often posting online, hyping up her man’s transformation and also shutting down online trolls claiming he’s been cloned, or that he’s more attractive since his weight loss. Now, Jelly Roll has lost over 250 pounds and weighs under 300 pounds for the first time since middle school. But some of those numbers will be even lower once Jelly Roll gets the excess skin removed from his body. Many people know that loose skin is a byproduct of massive weight loss, and Jelly Roll has experienced that in his journey as well. Earlier this summer, Jelly Roll shared that he wants to do a shirtless magazine cover by 2027, but will need to undergo skin-removal surgery before then. Jelly says that his access skin has begun to interfere with his daily functions, but if it were not affecting him, he would not address it. “It’s not even an aesthetic thing. Now that I can take my shirt off and I don’t have saggy t***, that’s going to be a big bonus! You know what I mean?” Leave it to Jelly to crack a joke like that while sharing some serious goals. But just how much excess skin will Jelly Roll remove? Jelly Roll shared with Joe Rogan that his doctors say he has over 30 pounds of loose skin that will be removed from his body. “My surgeon said I have 35 pounds of skin on me now. It’s crazy. Just 35 pounds of extra skin, just hanging off the front of me right now.” Jelly Roll, again, finds a way to sneak some humor into explaining this to Rogan, joking: “Somebody said, ‘Doesn’t that hurt?'” Referring to carrying around 35 pounds of extra hanging skin, “I said, ‘Not as bad as the 500 that was hanging. I’ll take these 35 over that, all day, dude, way fair change.'” I mean, he’s got a point. We all know that skin is the largest organ in the human body, but it’s hard to fathom that excess skin can weigh that much. While Jelly Roll (or should we say Veggie Roll) says he’d rather have the added weight of loose skin over being at a high weight again, I am sure he will feel like even more of a new man once he gets that removed. Keep up the hard work, Jelly.
