We took on the Bandana Survival Challenge in the Cohutta Wilderness — and this one pushed us to the edge. With temps dropping to 18°F, a tiny kit limited to what fits in a 20x20” bandana, and surprise challenges, this became one of the hardest minimalist survival tests I’ve ever filmed. Once we hiked in, it was on. We had to: • Build a bridge across a swamp • Maintain a long fire for the entire 24 hours • Knock out 100 push-ups and squats • Navigate a camp full of dead standing trees and widowmakers • Fight the cold with no sleep and very limited food All while relying only on the gear from my bandana kit. Despite the conditions, we worked through our survival priorities: shelter, water, fire, food, PMA, rest, and safety.
