Eli Manning went full Lainey Wilson during the latest edition of The ManningCast as the Miami Dolphins took on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Eli and Peyton Manning quickly spun their NFL quarterbacking careers into highly successful media ventures. The brothers have four Super Bowls combined between them, and now are fully enveloped in their own post-football careers. Peyton Manning started Omaha Productions in 2020, which then lead to everyone’s favorite alternate Monday Night Football broadcast: The ManningCast. The ManningCast has really grown since its inception back in 2021. One could argue that the production value has some room for improvement, but that’s not why football fans are tuning in. Everyone flips on the broadcast to see two brothers (who also happened to have legendary NFL careers) poke fun at one another as they break down the game. They also tend to have some respectable guests stop by during the broadcast. On this ManningCast, Peyton and Eli welcomed country music superstar Lainey Wilson. Country music fans likely know that Lainey and Peyton have some pre-established chemistry, considering they’ve hosted the CMA Awards together before. She also had a connection to one of the teams playing, as her fiancé – Duck Hodges – used to quarterback the team in yellow and black. If you’ve watched the ManningCast before, or are familiar with Peyton and Eli Manning’s style, they are almost always wearing a quarter zip. That’s just their look. But just like all of us regular folks on Zoom calls, we don’t always get to see what the Mannings are wearing from the waist down. Eli revealed his trousers of choice this time though… and let’s just say it was a Lainey Wilson inspired look. By that, I mean that Eli Manning took a page out of Lainey’s fashion book and threw on a pair of bell bottoms. Eli Manning certainly went for it with those bell bottoms. He even went with the “gold glitter” look, which was bold, to say the least. Obviously, it all as a joke, and I’d say the joke paid off. At one point, Lainey Wilson said “I can’t,” and then later complimented the former NFL quarterback by saying he puts “the bell in the bottom.” And there’s no doubt about that… the bell bottoms that Eli picked out were rather form fitting. All in all, it was an entertaining guest spot from Lainey Wilson. They all did a “swoller and a holler,” practiced their duck calls, and even dove into Lainey’s sports-playing history. There’s only one thing that I would have done differently. If you are going to put Eli Manning in bell bottoms, make him stand up the whole time and constantly show him in those bell bottoms.
