Surfaces formed in 2017 in College Station, Texas, when Colin Padalecki began uploading music online while attending Texas A&M University. After hearing Padalecki’s material, Baylor University graduate Forrest Frank reached out to invite him to record at his houseboat, leading to the release of their debut album, Surf, in December 2017. The band released six studio albums through 2024, with their most recent being Good Morning in June of that year.
