Coca-Cola Is Making a Huge Change to Its Ingredients
If you were around in the 1980s and drank Coca-Cola, the term “New Coke” might evoke traumatic memories. In April 1985, the Coca-Cola company decided to change the formula of its decades-old drink to compete with Pepsi-Cola. It turned out to be one of the biggest consumer disasters in modern history, and Coca-Cola Classic returned to shelves 79 days after New Coke’s debut. It’s been 40 years, and some fans still can’t talk about it. According to Allrecipes, Coca-Cola launched a new version made with cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. But will fans like it?

Coca-Cola Will Not Change Its Recipe
Coca-Cola with cane sugar is available alongside the original formulation. This is just an additional option for folks who want to avoid high-fructose corn syrup. The new cane sugar bottles made their way to a Reddit discussion, and fans love the taste.
“This version is the best. I am kind of glad it is only 8oz bottles because it forces you to be strategic when consuming. This is not a version to be drinking with a salty meal where you drink 2 or 3 of them,” someone wrote.
“I think these taste better than the Mexican version. They have a nice bite,” a fan agreed.
“The ‘nice bite’ is what I remembered as a kid. My grandfather owned a business where he had Coke deliveries. He got pretty friendly with the guy over the years. Leads me to the story where my grandmother used to send me to the finished basement, where they would have cases of Coca-Cola. So my grandfather made a deal with the Coca-Cola guy to deliver 8 cases (24 pack) to his house, which was two doors away from the supermarket. I still remember the guy walking up the driveway with the 8 cases (more like 12 to 15 at Christmas) and leaving them in the basement,” a fan shared.
