Jamey Johnson And Megan Moroney Teaming Up For ‘MOJO’ Benefit Concert In Birmingham, Alabama In 2026

Teaming up to do a lot of good. This morning, it was announced that Megan Moroney and Jamey Johnson are teaming up for a benefit concert in support of their respective charities, The Megan Moroney Foundation and the Give It Away Foundation. Titled MOJO, taking the first two letters of each of their last names, the show will take place in Birmingham, Alabama on January 15th at The Fennec, as they will each play their own hits in addition to likely taking the stage together as they raise money for two great causes. Of course, Johnson was an early supporter of Moroney, inviting her to join his What A View Tour in 2022. Alongside Deana Carter, Johnson also issued the official invitation for Megan to make her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2023. The event’s proceeds benefit Jamey and Brittney Johnson’s Give It Away Foundation, which supports charities close to their hearts and those that help communities during times of crisis, and The Megan Moroney Foundation, which is focused on supporting initiatives to combat bullying and promoting mental-health well-being. It’s a neat concept for them to join forces like this, and I’m sure it will be a sold-out event, which will raise a ton of money for two great causes. Johnson and his wife, Brittney, launched their foundation earlier this year, with the two hope to provide funding for these various organizations, as giving back has been a significant building block in their relationship. Brittney says it’s very close to her heart, and they both just want to help people as much as they can:  “Volunteer work has always been an important part of my life. One of the things I admired most about Jamey when we first met was his massive and generous heart. We share a love for helping people, and I think that has been an important part of our relationship from the beginning.” The Johnsons’ fund is of course name after the hit George Strait song that Jamey co-wrote, and was released in 2006. While this will be Moroney’s first show in 2026, it’s just the beginning of her extensive Cloud 9 arena tour, which will support her third studio album of the same name that will be released on February 20th.
