In this follow-up video, I’m giving a 6-month real-world update on my Gemtech Lunar 9 suppressor — and addressing a major issue I ran into with Gemtech’s warranty and finish durability. To be clear: the Lunar 9 has been an excellent suppressor. I’ve run it on a 9mm rifle, Glock 45, Glock 26, and 300 Blackout (subs only), and performance-wise it’s been solid — especially in the long configuration on 300 BLK. However, after roughly 700 rounds, I discovered finish failure on the booster assembly after cleaning it with Breakthrough Suppressor Cleaner — the same cleaner Gemtech recommends. When I contacted Gemtech, I was told the damage would not be covered under warranty because of the cleaner used… even though it’s their recommended product. That contradiction raises some serious questions — not about suppression performance, but about finish durability, warranty policy, and long-term ownership expectations. This video isn’t a hit piece. I still like the suppressor. But transparency matters — especially when we’re talking about NFA items and expensive gear.
