Award-Winning Actor Faces Child S*x Abuse Accusations, Says “All Lies” As He Turns Himself In To Authorities
Actor and director Timothy Busfield turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Busfield, best known for his roles on ‘Thirtysomething’ and ‘The West Wing,’ faces child sex abuse accusations.
“Timothy Busfield has turned himself in at the Metro Detention Center,” Gilbert Gallegos, director of communications for the Albuquerque Police Department, told Fox News Digital.
“He will be booked on his warrant,” Gallegos added.
Busfield has denied the accusations.
In a video obtained by TMZ, the Emmy-winning actor called the accusations “lies.”
“Hi everybody, it’s Tim. I’m sure most of you know, that are watching this, that I was ordered to come to Albuquerque – I’m here now,” Busfield said.
“I got the call Friday night, I had to get a lawyer. Saturday I got in the car, drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque. I’m gonna confront these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it,” he continued.
“I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies,” he added.

Fox News has more:
On Jan. 9, an arrest warrant for the director and Emmy Award-winning actor, obtained by Fox News Digital, was issued.
An investigator with the Albuquerque Police Department filed a criminal complaint in support of the charge, which says a child reported that Busfield touched him inappropriately.
The alleged acts — which allegedly happened when the child was 7 years old — occurred on the set of “The Cleaning Lady,” a TV series Busfield directed and acted in. Busfield allegedly touched the child three or four times, and again, another five or six times when the child was 8.

The New York Post shared further details:
Actor and director Timothy Busfield allegedly admitted to police that it was “highly likely” he touched kids on the New Mexico set of “The Cleaning Lady,” explaining how there were no specific rules regarding physical contact with children on the show.
The “West Wing” star was questioned by Officer Marvin Brown over whether he had ever had physical contact with the two children at the center of a criminal misconduct investigation against him, according to an arrest warrant obtained by Us Weekly.
Busfield, 68, reportedly said it was “highly likely that he would have,” adding that the set of “The Cleaning Lady” was a “playful environment.”
Investigators with the Albuquerque Police Department are working with the US Marshals Service to track down Busfield after he was hit with two counts of sexual contact with a minor and child abuse.
The boys, who are twins, were 11 at the time of the alleged misconduct in 2024.
Asked what the protocol was for “touching children and picking them up” on set, the married actor reportedly responded that it “wasn’t allowed,” before adding that there was “no protocol” on physical conduct between adults and minors, according to the warrant.
“I mean, I’m always around people, right? It would be, you know, in front of the parents. There would never be a weird moment about it,” Busfield said during his police interview on Nov. 3, 2025, according to the arrest warrant.
