Charles Wesley Godwin Teases Another Brand New Song & Fans Cannot Wait For A New Album

Is an album announcement on its way soon? Though we were treated to his first full-length live record, Live From Steel City, back in the fall, many fans (myself included) have been patiently waiting for the pride of West Virginia, Charles Wesley Godwin, to release new music for quite a while now. While we’re still waiting for the announcement of album #4, which Godwin confirmed is in the works, he kept fans satisfied with a plethora of different teasers throughout 2025. Between “Every Once In Awhile” and “Better That Way,” as well as “Hallelujah High” and “Try Again,” it’s more than apparent that he’s looking to outdo himself once again upon the release of his next record. Recently, however, it seems like he’s ramping up the teasers at an even higher rate. In December, he’d share previously-teased songs such as the aforementioned “Better That Way,” “I Caught The Sunrise” and “Fly Again.” In January, he’s kicked it up another notch. This past Sunday, he shared another brand new song, “Christian Name,” which shares the name of his upcoming 2026 tour. And today, he’s back at it with yet another new song, seemingly titled “Stranger On The Street.” View this post on Instagram Harkening back to some of his older work on projects like Seneca, Godwin sets the scene early in the first verse, recalling meeting the titular stranger on the street. Clearly struggling, the stranger senses it in the narrator before reassuring him that he’s been in his shoes before. “Advice from a stranger you should take with a grain of salt But son, I ain’t no stranger to that split-tongue Devil’s talk I can see in your expression there’s hurt behind that smile I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve walked every single mile” The verse gives way to the brilliantly-penned chorus that sees the stranger give Godwin some timely advice, noting how “only love can make the bitter bittersweet.” In particular, I love the way the “All Again” singer plays with words contained within each other as he uses “completely incomplete” and “bitter bittersweet” in back-to-back lines. “Dancing on the dark side with a heavy cross to bear Entertaining heaven-sent angels unaware No matter where I went, I was completely incomplete Only love can make the bitter bittersweet Just advice from a stranger on the street” As mentioned previously, it’s clear that Godwin is slowly inching his way towards an album announcement, given the sheer volume of songs he’s teased over the past few months. Fans are clearly well-aware of this too, as many took to the comment section to praise the song and beg for the new album. “Patiently waiting [for] an album drop sir!” “I can’t wait for your new album!!“ “This album’s going to heal“ “LFG Charles… time for an album drop” “This sounds like the first 2 albums. Ahhhh” “My goodness, fantastic!” As of now, “Stranger On The Street” does not have a release date.
