Not only that, but it is filled with the most prestigious board ever assembled, according to our President. You can certainly be forgiven for not remembering what this is, I had to go research it myself. Here are all the details: The Board of Peace (BoP) The Board of Peace (often abbreviated as BoP) is an international transitional body established as part of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan to end the Israel-Hamas conflict and manage the post-war phase in Gaza. Background and Purpose It was formalized through United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 in November 2025, following a ceasefire agreement negotiated under Trump’s plan (accepted by Israel and Hamas in late 2025). The board oversees the second phase of the plan, which began around January 14, 2026, focusing on: Supervising a temporary technocratic Palestinian committee (the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, or NCAG) responsible for day-to-day governance, public services, and administration in the Gaza Strip. Coordinating reconstruction efforts, humanitarian aid, and redevelopment. Advancing demilitarization (including the disarmament of unauthorized groups like Hamas). Supporting the deployment of a multinational International Stabilization Force (peacekeeping element) to ensure compliance with the peace agreement. The board acts as a supervisory and advisory international authority during this transitional period, with an emphasis on international involvement from Arab, Muslim-majority, and Western countries. Leadership and Composition President Donald Trump chairs the board and has described it in characteristically bold terms as “the greatest and most prestigious board ever assembled at any time, any place.” On January 15, 2026, Trump announced its official formation via Truth Social, stating that full membership details would be revealed shortly. Nickolay Mladenov (former UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Bulgarian diplomat) serves as the designated director-general (or on-the-ground representative/CEO), a role confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in early January 2026. An executive committee reportedly includes figures like Trump’s advisers Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair mentioned in early discussions (though his involvement faced some pushback). The full board is expected to include around 10–15 heads of state or senior leaders from countries such as Egypt, Qatar, UAE, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and others. Invitations were sent out in mid-January 2026, with Trump personally involved in selections. The first meeting was anticipated on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos later that month.
