Domestic. A Facebook post from a Leftist in Tranemo has sparked strong reactions locally. Erica Grönesjö Kiesbye (V) urged her followers to cut the testicles "off men who vote right." However, she is allowed to remain in office – and the Left Party takes no action against her.
A municipal council member for the Left Party in Tranemo municipality has fallen into wind after a high-profile post on Facebook.
In a comment on a post from the Church of Sweden about Holocaust Memorial Day, the left party-Woman wrote that she did not encourage violence – but added: “If you have the chance, cut the balls of men who vote right”.
The post, first noted by P4 Sjuhärad, was later removed. Before that, however, the content had been saved via screenshot and started spreading.
The politician, Erica Grönesjö Kiesbye, has in hindsight apologised and described the post as ill-considered.
I can’t defend it because it was really hard. It was completely thoughtlessly done," she told P4 Sjuhärad.
She has also explained that the wording was not intended as an actual incitement to violence.
“It was not my idea that you should surgically remove the balls on them.
The reactions locally have been strong. The president of the Moderate Party of Tranemo, Jörgen Hansson, believes the statement has crossed the boundary of decency.
The incident is not the first one where the politician has attracted attention. In 2024, she was reported to the police after calling the Moderates Nazis and racists in the City Council.
Despite the current post, she will retain her political duties. The Left Party's district president of Sjuhärad, Marjan Garmroudi, states that action is not considered necessary because the speech has been deleted and an apology has been made.
“Confidence is based on responsibility, and in this case the person has taken responsibility.
