Ironically, it’s Megadeth’s final album that is their first #1 in the U.S. The self-titled effort debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 after earning 73,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 29th. Megadeth “After 40 years of delivering Megadeth music, playing shows around the world, I have nothing but gratitude at this moment,” comments Megadeth founder/leader Dave Mustaine. “Finding out that our last Megadeth record is also our first #1 only further validates my will to go out on top.” “Absolutely amazing news,” exclaims guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari. “Thank you and congrats to our entire extended Megadeth family!” This is Teemu’s first album as a Megadeth member. However, he joined the band over two years ago. “Megadeth” was produced by Chris Rakestraw, who also worked on Megadeth’s 2022 set “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” and 2016’s “Dystopia.” The album features the tracks: Tipping Point I Don’t Care Let There Be Sherd Tipping Point “We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day,” offers Mustaine. I Don’t Care “How many times have you wanted to say this to someone?” Mustaine asks when discussing “I Don’t Care.” “Deep down inside, if we had the balls, we would tell more people, ”I don’t care’ more often.” Let There Be Shred “Let There Be Shred” features guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari. “To make this record absolutely shred… we needed to put a lot of solos in it. ” Mustaine notes. “(Teemu) really lit a fire in me for my playing.” The Thrash Metal band was formed in Los Angeles in 1983. ### The post Megadeth Score First U.S. #1 Album appeared first on RockinTown.
