Miranda Lambert Brings Out Randy Rogers For Surprise Performance Of “In My Arms Instead” At San Antonio Rodeo
The duo I never knew I needed.
With rodeo season officially beginning in Texas, San Antonio Rodeo was the first of many high-profile events to kick off their festivities last week. In case you missed it, the South Texas officially kicked off back on February 12th and has already featured some stellar acts. So far, Hank Williams Jr., Ty Myers, Pat Green, Brad Paisley and Midland have already gotten the two-week event started with even more killer artists such as 49 Winchester, Shane Smith & the Saints, Cody Jinks, Braxton Keith and more set to perform before SA Rodeo’s final day on February 28th.

Fresh off her appearance at the Daytona 500 last weekend, last night, none other than 33x ACM Award-winner and soon-to-be member of the Texas Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, Miranda Lambert, took the stage on the eighth night of the rodeo and brought along a fellow Texas legend with her.
After warming up the crowd with past hits such as “Kerosene,” “The House That Built Me,” “Heart Like Mine” and “Bluebird,” Lambert would surprise the crowd and bring out none other than Randy Rogers for not one but two of his biggest hits, “In My Arms Instead” and “Kiss Me in the Dark.”
It should go without saying that Rogers and his band, by extension, have remained one of the key members of the ever-growing and ever-talented Texas scene over the past two decades. While acts like Koe Wetzel, Hudson Westbrook, Flatland Cavalry and more have broken out in bigger ways in the mainstream, Rogers and Co. laid the blueprint (along with others) for today’s modern Texas sound. Of course, that sound is best represented by their two biggest, certified-platinum hits, which were performed alongside Lambert last night.
Given that the two Texas natives go way back, Lambert would introduce Rogers as her “long-time friends and heroes” before calling the “Buy Myself a Chance” singer an “entity” in Texas. The two would proceed to absolutely crush both performances, with the “White Liar” singer providing some stellar harmonies with Rogers, marking the first time Lambert has ever performed the song alongside him.
It should go without saying that both Lambert and Rogers are certified legends in the Texas scene, and if you’ve never seen the pair perform together, these two performances are nothing short of a must-watch.
