Supreme Court Sides With Parents in Trans Secrecy Case
The Supreme Court ruled that California cannot withhold information about children from their parents, particularly as it relates to transgender ideology. This is a temporary ruling while the case is being heard.
The case involves parents who were not told that their daughter had been going to school as a boy and the school kept it from them, including the fact that they’d been using her boy name. They did not find out until the young woman attempted suicide. The parents sought religious exemption from the state laws that allow schools to keep this from them and the court ruled that they “are likely to succeed on the merits of their Free Exercise Clause claim.”
The court also stated: “The State argues that its policies advance a compelling interest in student safety and privacy. But those policies cut out the primary protectors of children’s best interests: their parents.”
