Crock Pot BBQ Pork Chops
These amazing Crock Pot BBQ Pork Chops come out fork tender tender and only require a small handful of ingredients. A little sweet and a little savory!
A Unique Slow Cooker Pork Chop Recipe
These Crock Pot BBQ Pork Chops are made with BBQ sauce, apricot preserves, onion soup mix, bone-in pork chops, garlic powder. I know the apricot preserves sounds like a wild ingredient but I just need you to trust that they add just a little sweetness while also creating a gorgeous glaze for the chops. The sauce for the Crock Pot Party Meatballs was my inspiration for these chops and it turned out perfect!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Is it better to use bone-in or boneless pork chops? I am using bone-in pork chops for this recipe for a couple of reasons. First of all, bone-in chops tend to be a little cheaper than their boneless counterparts. Plus, more times than not, I can get the bone-in pork chops on sale. Secondly, the bone-in pork chops are less likely to dry out and get tough. But boneless definitely works here. What to serve with Crock Pot BBQ Pork Chops? Serve with a side salad and maybe some steamed and roasted veggies. Or maybe try whipping up some Garlic Mashed Potatoes or Garlic Parmesan Potatoes. If you want a different carb, some Butter Swim Biscuits, Dinner Rolls, or Garlic Bread are always great options. What else can I add? You can add some quartered potatoes or sweet potatoes on top of the onions if you want to make this dinner go a little further. How to store leftover Pork Chops? Allow the pork chops and sauce to cool slightly, then transfer everything to an airtight container. Be sure to spoon plenty of the BBQ sauce over the chops before storing to keep the meat moist. Store them in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. These freeze well for up to 2 months in a freezer safe bag or container.
Ingredients Needed: (See Recipe Card Below For The Full Recipe)
BBQ sauce– use whatever brand you prefer. I tend to go with something like Sweet Baby Rays since that seems to be a barbecue sauce that most people enjoy. Or you could make some Homemade BBQ Sauce.
apricot preserves– this sounds like a wild ingredient, I know, but you don’t taste the apricot preserves as a separate ingredient. It gives these a little additional sweetness and acts like a glaze as well. you could use grape jelly if you need an alternative. A reader also shared she used blackberry preserves instead of apricot as well.
onion soup mix-if you don’t want to use store-bought, try making your own Homemade Onion Soup Mix to use and you can control the ingredients that go into it.
bone-in pork chops– I talked about using boneless vs bone-in chops above in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) section. Additionally, I’ve had a reader share that she was able to make this with a pork loin instead. You could even use chicken breasts instead of pork chops.
garlic powder

Season both sides of each of the pork chops with garlic powder and gently rub it in. Place pork chops into the sauce in the slow cooker and, using a spoon, cover the chops with some of the sauce.

Please refer to my FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) and ingredient list above for other substitutions or for the answers to the most common questions.
I didn’t season the pork chops with salt as there is already salt in the onion soup mix and bbq sauce. You can certainly season the pork chops however you like.
This sauce makes enough for up to 6 pork chops if you need to make more. Just make sure you have a larger slow cooker to accommodate 6 pork chops to cook evenly.
