Within the opening days of the Iran-US-Israel war, the State Department urged Americans across 14 countries in the Middle East region to urgently depart. There's since been an ongoing US government facilitated evacuation effort. Private tour groups have also been coordinating to get people out. For example, stranded tourists in Israel have rushed south, across the Egyptian border on buses, where they can safely arrange flights from Cairo. For the first time of the war, Turkey has just been added to the list - a rarity given it has long been viewed as a place of stability and is a prime tourist destination.
