Parker McCollum Expands Stellar Self-Titled Album With Four-Song Deluxe Edition
Expanding his most personal album to date.
It’s safe to say that 2025 was a pretty huge year for Parker McCollum. In addition to performing at President Donald Trump’s inaugural ball in January and co-hosting Better Together Texas and raising over $8.5 million for flood relief with Miranda Lambert in August, the Texas native dropped what he called his most personal record to date, his self-titled, fifth studio album, back on June 27th.
Ultimately, the self-titled release felt like a return to form for McCollum. Though it didn’t quite have the feel of the highly lauded Limestone Kid that many were expecting, it was a record filled with a plethora of quality tracks. From the sprawling murder ballad, “My Blue,” and the Cody Johnson collaboration, “Good Time Charlie’s Got The Blues,” to high-energy tracks like his #1 hit, “What Kinda Man,” and “Big Sky,” he delivered a rock-solid effort.
Despite there still being rumblings from fans about the album not being Limestone Kid, it was clear that McCollum was through the roof with the record upon its completion. In an interview with Apple Music’s Kelleigh Bannen, he’d call it the first time he left the studio feeling like he made something that “might be a little bit good.”
“It’s my fifth studio album and the other four, every time I’ve made a record, I’ve left the studio and just been like, ‘I missed. Not good. Don’t like it. Just wasted a ton of time and money.’ And it’s always done so well. Everything’s done so well. So I’m like, ‘Maybe this is the kiss of death, the fact that I finally think that I’ve done something that might be a little bit good.’ But I don’t know, I don’t need anybody else to like it. And it’s the first time I’ve ever really been able to feel like that, which is nice.”
Given the fact that McCollum liked the project so much, coupled with the fact that the highly anticipated track, “Big Ole Fancy House,” was left off the official release and only available through downloading the album on his website, it felt like a deluxe edition was bound to happen.
This notion received more validity at the start of 2026 when McCollum took to Instagram to tease that new music was coming “very, very soon.” Just a few weeks later, the “Pretty Heart” singer would send fans into a frenzy by announcing that the aforementioned “Big Ole Fancy House” was FINALLY getting an official release.
In tandem with “Fancy House’s” release back on January 23rd, McCollum would officially announce that a deluxe version of the record was set to release today, March 2oth.

In addition to finally receiving “Big Ole Fancy House,” McCollum expanded the record with another three tracks: “Montgomery County,” “The One Before The One” and Wind My Friend.”
Kicking off the deluxe edition is the solo-written “Montgomery County.” Serving as a love letter to his hometown, the track ultimately feels like a peek behind the curtain of McCollum’s life growing up. Filled to the brim with tiny details of the town, ranging from schools in the area and local businesses to old friends and family, the track truly feels like you’re in the car with the Texas native as he takes a Sunday drive through his town.
As for “The One Before The One,” I’d argue it’s one of the most interesting tracks on the entire project. Co-written by fellow Texas legend, Randy Rogers, along with Jedd Hughes and Sarah Buxton, it’s one of the most soulful, bluesy tracks in McCollum’s to date. Feeling reminiscent of an early John Mayer track, he grapples with the fact that everyone thinks they found the “one” for them before moving on and finding the other “one” that’s actually right for them.
“I thought I saw forever, turns out we were blind
You never met the man that I became and that’s just fine
Everybody has the one before the one and you were mine”
Ultimately, the four-song expansion of McCollum’s self-titled album does the project justice. Though there will always be critics harping on the fact that he didn’t harken back to the Limestone Kid era, the album in its entirety feels like a return to form for the “Burn It Down” singer. It’s abundantly clear that McCollum is at his most confident here on the album, and it results in a project that’s incredibly sure of itself, fresh and most importantly, cohesive.
